Good News

I decided I needed to blog when I got tired and a little scared of seeing Thomas's face in that magazine every time I clicked on my blog page... :)

I went to the doctor yesterday, and I DO NOT have a boot anymore!!!! I wore it faithfully for almost FIVE weeks, and it payed off. My shin bone is still healing, like it isn't all back together fully yet, but the doctor said I can start doing low-impact stuff, like stationary bike. In two weeks I can start jogging on the track, twice a week. I am SO excited. I can't play this season, unless we make playoffs, but I am still excited to be able so start exercising again!

Minus the boot now, I can drive. (I wasn't able to work the pedals, obviously). I love driving. But then who doesn't??

I have been blessed with very little homework tonight. Today I had a big speech project in my AP English class, and I presented that today so I am off the hook for the rest of the week! I took a quiz in Chemistry and aced it, took a math test in Pre-Calc yesterday, and didnt ace it, but got a b. which for me is great. So I dont have any homework! :)

I have gone to Taco Bell three days in a row! I am pretty sick of it actually. But I love the under-a-dollar menu. Its the best.

Long Weekend!!

We have a three day weekend! Today in English we had a sub, who was about 60, from Georgia, and he talked for about half an hour about some of his experiences from growing up in an extremely racial area. It was interesting to hear from a primary source things you read about, and how much things have changed.

Next week about 10 kids from my AP American Studies block class are going with my English teacher to Washington D.C. for the Inaugural Address. They will be gone for the whole week! I think it would have been cool to go, except its freezing over there.

So I have a basketball game tonight (I'm not playing of course) and we only have eight and a half players! I say a half because our point guard can only go at 50% because of an injury. Our team is falling apart! Me, Veronica (our star guard) and Taryn are out with stress fractures, a torn meniscus, and a torn rotater cuff, respectively. I believe that next year is OUR year to dominate, not this year. Our coach was in the hospital for 4 days I think with pneumonia and really low blood pressure. She is still sick and we don't really know whats wrong. So this is not our year for basketball :)

I am loving school. Even if I am having to walk around it in a boot :) But I keep telling myself that the more I wear the faster I'll get better... anyways, My classes are fun some of the time, and I just love being around people! Seminary is going well too. I'm just loving life right now!! :)

Wisdom Teeth

Friday I went to see Dr. Kennedy to get my wisdom teeth pulled. I only had two, both on the top. I was pretty nervous. My appointment was at nine in the morning. So I get called back, and the nurse lady puts numbing QTips on my gums. Then Dr. Kennedy comes in, and I ask him if I need laughing gas, and he say no. Dang it. So then he shoots me up in the gums, and in my pallet (that one hurt the worst); three or four shots on each side. I did NOT cry :) really though I didn't. I thought it was going to be worse, pain-wise. Mom went with me and I was squeezing her hand pretty hard. So we had to wait patiently til the numbing was working, the doctors making small talk with my mom while I was just sitting there. Then he checks to make sure I'm all numb, then starts pushing and digging around with his tools. It was very disturbing hearing cracking sounds coming from my mouth. After the first one was out, mom moved to look over Dr. Kennedy's shoulder to watch him pull it out. Gross. I cannot believe how fast it was all over with.

They sent me home with gauze pads and ice packs. I was bleeding so much in the next five hours, it was a little frightening. Lexi stayed home to help me. And taking pictures of me while I was sleeping.
I was eating french fries yesterday, and today I am pretty much back to normal; I could eat salsa and a bean burrito. Plus alot of other stuff :) My jaw is still stiff though. Thank you's go out to my family for putting up with a very fussy and cranky Katie for the past two days!!
