COUNTDOWN!

I hate the word random...

So I hate the word random used in conversation alot, it just kinda bugs me. Not all the time, I am unfairly prejudiced towards people who use that word; I use it as an excuse to be mad or annoyed...anyways, lately I have been doing some pretty random things that I usually dont do. Before you jump to conclusions that you may or may not jump to, these things are not bad at all. For example, driving through an abondoned neighborhood honking the horn alot, going to Sonic because we just feel like it, playing tennis at ASU out of the blue, TACO BELL, Walmart, (ugh shudder...), saying we are going to to gym but really just driving around and getting Chipotle, and many other (insert annoying word here) things. These various activities have been occupying my time since basketball ended. I just thought you might want to know what I have been up to since b-ball ended and my schedule has opened up quite a bit. Productive, aren't I?? :)

Stake Youth Conference

Last weekend, (yes it has been a week!) our stake had youth conference. As you might have read in my mom's blog, come Friday night, I was not in the best mood and wasnt really that motivated to go. But Bro. Gale called, and asked me to say the opening prayer.UGH. I have no problem saying prayers in seminary, or Sunday School, but at youth conference in front of the whole stake?? I was actually pretty nervous; Lexi was trying to hold back her rebukes, like "Its just a prayer!" But I went, and had a great time. The prayer was really short, and if I was doing this over again, I would have been more thoughtful with it. But anyways, I got Spencer Larson's autograph! Ok so i had no idea who this guy was until then, but he plays for the Broncos...

So he talked to us, we played games, and then ate dessert. Thomas, who is not even in our stake, showed up haha. It was fun.

Saturday morning, I am at the church at 6 ready to hike. We went over to San Tan Mountains. During the hike, I stay with Lexi but mostly Joel. It was fun, just talking. When we got to the top, Bro. Sterling talked to us, then Joel and I ran down the mountain. It was SO fun because it was the first time in...three months that I have ran (run? I feel stupid...gone running?). But my shin did not hurt at all! YAY. Then we did a service project at Coronado, and then ate lunch.

Later that night, we had a devotional by our patriarch, Bro. Huber. He is an amazing man. We gave Austin, a blind boy in our stake, a ride back to the church. It was really cool talking to him; he loves music and knows SO many different types. Then we had a talent show, and dance. There are so many talented people in my stake! The dance was fun, but there were only 3 or 4 slow dances, and for one of them, the DJ set me up with my brother's friend. My eighth grade brother. I wouldn't have minded if it was Mike's friend, but not Nick's. Awkward.

Fan Fest!

Yesterday, Mom, Luke, Nick and I went to the Ballpark for D-Backs Fan Fest. I was excited to get an autograph or picture with my favorite players, but sadly the lines we way too long. But we still had fun!

Where's Waldo? Ok not Waldo, see if you can spot Nick in this pic!

Sunday Morning

Happy Sunday morning!

Friday night, our basketball team played Coronado, who had beat us earlier in the season by 20 points. It was their Senior Night, so there were alot of people there cheering them on. We were tied at the end of the game, so we went into overtime. And we won by 5!! It was such an exciting game!! Since we beat Arcadia and Coronado in the same week, our chances of going to playoffs are drastically improved. We will find out sometime in the middle of this week if we are going or not; and i will definitely blog one way or the other when I find out. :) And if we I do make it to playoffs, I might be able to play!

Sad side-story: Before the game on Friday, i was rebounding some balls for the other girls, and me and Veronica were going for the same one and I totally jammed my finger so bad on it; like Veronica heard my pinky hit the ball and was kinda freaked out! It is the first jammed finger of the season for me :) I usually get them all the time, but since I have been out... ya but my finger is purpleish and greenish now and it hurts to type... I have the worst luck :(
