Life Lessons

WOW so much has happened this last month!!! Lexi told me today "I have been on three dates this last month" and I realized that all this stuff has happened in the past 30 days! This year has gone by SO fast, and it really has been amazing. I have learned so much, not necessarily academic related, but also many life lessons. Some of these lessons have not been fun at all, but truly I would not be the same person if they didn't happen. It seems like forever ago that I fractured my shin, and was in a boot for weeks (a dark time in my life) but really it was less than 6 months ago. CRAZY. I am in a very reflective mood right now. Here are some things I have learned or experienced this year:

-Because of my shin fracture, and my inability to play in a single basketball game my junior year, I have learned to sympathize, comfort, understand, and be able to relate with more people. I have learned to get over myself, stop throwing pity parties for myself, and deal with what hand I have been given. Everything happens for a reason. I know that my stress fracture was for my own good, even if I was not happy at the time. It made me be grateful for the times I do get to run and jump and actually do a right handed lay-up without pain. I have been humbled from that experience, and I am actually in a healthy place in my life right now where I can accept that. I am so glad that happened this year, so that I get one more chance to enjoy playing basketball, one more time.

-I have learned that most boys are not worth it. "It" meaning that they do not want the same things you(I) do: companionship, friendship, reliability, doing little things that make you smile, thoughtfulness, sensitivity, kindness, etc. I realized that this hefty list is asking way too much of boys now, so I just have to wait to til they mature up!! And I am ok with that. (Hebrews 10:36).
No matter how much potential you see in them, they cannot change unless they choose to, unless they want to. I am not sad, but hopeful. I am grateful I have learned this lesson pretty pain-free. And my list is just going to get longer!! :)

-There is always more going on behind the cover of someone, more problems in their life than you know of. I have heard things of people, and been like "What? That is going on in his/her life right now??" and had no idea. Never would have guessed. That is why it is so important to be kind and sensitive all the time because you may accidently say something offensive, or what you do may tip the scales of their control or something, and it would be terrible to have that on your conscience.

-I think that it is basically a sin for me to be unhappy at any time. It is so hard to be happy all the time, but seriously, I have no right to be unhappy.

Well I think that is all I have to say tonight. Thanks for listening (reading....).

Date Night #2

Last night I went on a date, to the Easter Pageant. I have no memory of going before (I phrase it like that because my mom swears that we went but I dont remember). It was with my cousin Jake again. (Sorry, that was worded confusingly; Jake brought a date and drove us). We went to Gecko Grill first, and it was good. I went with Jamyn again, the same guy from two posts ago. It was SO cold last night, sitting in lawn chairs at the pageant. We were a little late but it was fine, we didnt miss much. After that, we went back to Jake's and watched High School Musical 3. I have never seen it, but the whole experience was...entertaining. And unforgettable. I did not think it was very good, but i still liked it. It was a good date.

Lexi also went to the Easter Pageant yesterday, also on a date, but with a different group than mine. She went on a date Friday night and last night. Lucky girl.

My new favorite song is by David Archuleta, Works for me. It's good, and I have been listening to it all day. I think Lexi got annoyed that I was listening to it so much. Click on the song to listen to it!

Happy Easter!!

Baseball

Yesterday was the first D-Backs game of the season. Sadly I did not get to attend it, since it was my parents anniversary. But I did watch the replay at 6:30, and it was SUCH a good game. I love baseball!!!

There is only six weeks left of school. I am sad because I love the people in my classes and am scared that I wont see any of them next year because it is our senior year and we are all taking as few classes as possible, and spending as little time as possible at school. Isn't that sad? I hope that I get to see people next year!! That is one of the things I am not looking forward to. That and my two AP Tests in May, for English and History. Ugh. It is just hitting me that I have a year until I won't see any of my friends anymore. It is going to be hard to keep in touch with all of the awesome people, and not so awesome people, at my school. I am going to miss going to high school. But I know that I will probably meet awesome people in college too...

Date Night!

Last night, Lexi and I went on a date! Not together :) We both went with my cousin Jacob's friends. Larissa O. went with Jake.

Here is me and Jamyn. Here is Lexi and Parker!

And here is Larissa and Jake.

We went out to eat at PeiWei. No one had been there except Parker and Jamyn, and they had only gone once... But it was good. I got the lettuce wraps, Jamyn got this spicy chicken thing, and drank alot of lemonade because it was apparently spicy :) We went back to Jake's house and played card games, then went to the park right by his house and played Monkeys on the ground. It was soooo fun. After that, we played 2-on-2-on-2 basketball! Me and Jamyn totally creamed the other couples; it was very fun, I was having a blast. Then we played Rock Band to cool down. The whole night went by really fast! I wish it was longer because we were having so much fun.

Hold the phone...

Its been a long time since I last blogged! (even though the only one who ever reads my blog is my mom - thanks mom!!) Here is a quick overview of recent events:

- For mutual, we had an Olympic-themed game night, and we were broken into teams and had to do 8 tasks and whoever had the best time won. Can you believe it that my team won?? It was me, Brad, Sadie and Jade, and we dominated! Actually, I'm not sure how we won, but Brad ate a raw egg in like 15 seconds; it was so gross! There was an award ceremony, and they gave out medals (Ding Dongs with tinted tin foil, ours was gold of course). It was so fun.

-Lexi was in our school production of Back to the Eighties! She played a nerd, Laura Wild, and was SO good. I went to all three nights they put it on, and me and my friend Thomas decided that overall, Friday night was best, but parts of Saturday night were SO funny.

-I went to Lexi's choir concert, which was good too. She has been really busy lately!!

-I went to the dentist and got three cavities drilled (ouch) and then had to go back to school while my mouth was still numb! Thanks mom... :)

-SPRING BREAK is here!!

-I went to Dollar Tree three times in two days, (don't ask why, I'm not really sure) and played games. Here is Lexi, me and Thomas (who does not always look this scary/freaky) acting dumb in the store:

-We went to my cousins' house yesterday, and had a blast. We always have a good time when we go over there, I love it :)

-The only bad thing about Spring Break is that my teachers piled so much homework on me! I have THREE projects to do. Two for the same class! ugh. one is a book report thing, and that won't be too bad. But i hate homework over breaks!!

-My junior year is almost over! I am nervous for next year though... but I hope it's as fun as I'm anticipating it to be!!
